Would your pet be safe if disaster struck and your family had to evacuate? Some shelters don’t accept pets, so you need so get ready now. Prepare your best friend for evacuating a fire, tornado, hurricane, flood, or gas leack by following these 3 steps:
- Make evacuation plans.
- Discuss staying at family’s homes
- Check for pet-friendly hotels
- Check with vets & shelters to see if they board
- Prepare an evacuation plan for your family
- See if neighbors will evacuate your pets if needed
- Get pet up-to-date on vaccination/microchip
